OK, first, we need to know what modem you are using, and how it is
set up and configured, so please do the following:

Open "My Computer" then open "Control Panel" and then open "Modems"
and look for the screen above. Write down exactly what you see in this screen
for modems, all of them if you have more than one, and write down which one is
highlighted. In the case above you would write the following:

Modem Blaster USB DE5670 - Highlighted This is the one the computer is using
US Robotics 56K FAX EXT
US Robotics 56K Voice Win

Then click the Properties button as indicated above. You will then
come to the screen below.

Make sure that what you see for a modem on the screen above matches
what you have highlighted for a modem in the first screen. Then write down
what numbers you see in your screen at the bottom of the above screen for
maximum speed. Then click the "Connection" tab on the top and you will
be taken to the screen below. When you get to the screen below, I need to
which items have black marks next to them in the first area that I have
circled, and I need to know what, if anything, is in the second area that
I have circled below.

Now, Return to the extra settings page and find the modem you have in
the charts and follow the instrucitons for entering the appropriate extra
settings for your modem.
