How to change your dial up number

In order to better serve you, we have combined some of our POP sites into one. This move allows us to monitor equipment easier, maintain it easier, and puts the Gloucester, Mathews, West Point and King and Queen sites on a separate circuit to the Net which will also increase your speed on the Net.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR DIAL UP NUMBER

Windows 95/98/ME/2000

1) Double-click My Computer

2) Double-Click Dial-up Networking

3) Click the right mouse button once on Eagles Nest (Or whatever the icon is to connect you to us)

4) Left-click on properties.

5) replace the old number with the new one.

6) Make sure "Use country code and area code" is unchecked.

7) Click OK.

8) Close everything.

DONE.

Win NT

1) Double-click My Computer

2) Double-Click Dial-up Networking

3) Click on "More", then click on "Edit entry and modem properties"

6) Click OK.

4) Replace the old number with the new one.

5) Make sure "Use Dialing properties" is unchecked.

7) Close everything.

DONE.

If you live in Gloucester, Mathews or King and Queen County AND the first three
numbers of your phone number begin with 642, 693, 694, 695, 699, 725, 785, 824, 825, use this number: 824-0001

If you live in the New Kent county area and your number begins with 966, or 932 use this number: 234-0008

If you live in the town of West Point and your number begins with 843 use this number: 757-345-0227 **IMPORTANT** You must put this entire number in the phone number blank. (DO NOT put 757 in the area code and do NOT use a 1 in front of the number, just the numbers 757-345-0227 ONLY) This is guaranteed to be
a local call. Verizon has made sure this is so. AS LONG AS YOU ARE NOT DIALING a 1 in front of 757-345-0227.

FOR ALL USERS - Do not use an area code except for those who have been specifically told to use 757. (843 users only).
