About Dill
O'Hagan I have been drawing and painting all my life. My first showing was when I was 3 years old and drew an intricate mural on the wall down the hall of my home in Winston-Salem, NC. But when confronted by my not-too-pleased mother, I confessed that "Dewey did it", who was my imaginary friend, of course. |
| Many years later, with a degree in Fine Art from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, I'm still rarely without a paintbrush or pencil in hand, but have opted to paint on fabric rather than walls. I now live in an enchanted little studio/cottage on the Rapphannock River in Lancaster Virginia (not too far from the Chesapeake Bay). My feline companions, Rainbeau and Forty Karats keep me company during my long hours in the studio (even though they are known to be sneakily watching the ducks, swans, bald eagles, kingfishers and river otters out the window instead of critiquing my painting). |  |
| I've so enjoyed expanding the art of fabric painting to way beyond the thickly applied stylized designs found on clothing. And the challenge of capturing someone's special memories, beloved pet or whimsical request is a never ending delight. See samples of eccentric/whimsical requests and wall hangings (for those who just don't want a pillow). |
