From this site you may download any of the versions of Netscape Communicator Version 4 below.  Since we are a licensed distributor of these products, all are available to subscribers of Eagles Nest, Ltd. free of charge.  These are full copies, not beta and they will not expire.  You may also purchase any of the versions below from us on CD ROM for a nominal fee.  Please contact us for more information if you wish to purchase a CD ROM.

Download Instructions

1.    First, make a directory or folder on your hard drive and call it Netscape.

2.   If you have Norton Anti Virus, turn it off.  This is very important, as these are very large files and Norton will cause problems unless you have a lot of RAM on your machine.  No need to worry, these files are VIRUS FREE!

2.    Now click the appropriate "Link" on this page or on the Netscape page for the product you want.  Make sure you write down the name of the file you are downloading, i.e.: "cc32e404.exe" so that you can find it later in case you don't get it in the directory/folder you specified above.

3.    Now choose the "save as" option and save the file to the directory/folder that you have made on your hard drive.   DO NOT change the name of the file you are saving.

Installation of Programs

WIN 95 - Once the file is completely downloaded and saved, get off line, exit all programs you have up and running.  IMPORTANT: In Windows 95, make sure you have nothing else running.  To do that, hit "Ctrl", "Alt" & "Delete" on your keyboard all at the same time.  A new window will pop up on your screen.  At this point you will select each program that is running in the window you see, ONE BY ONE by single clicking it.  Then just click "End Task" for that program.  Sometimes it will take more than one attempt at ending a program.  The only two programs you should leave running in that window are "Windows Explorer" and "Systray".   DO NOT CLOSE THEM.   Then go through Windows Explorer to your Netscape folder and just double click the file that you have just downloaded.  Follow the instructions on the screen that Netscape gives you.   For instructions on how to configure your email in Communicator, click here.

WIN 3.1 - After you have successfully saved the file in your Netscape directory, get off line and close all programs.  Then click "File" and "Run" and type c:\the name of your file (if you saved it to a drive other than c: replace the c: with that drive letter.  Then click "OK" or hit your ENTER key on your keyboard.  Follow the instructions on the screen that Netscape gives you.  For instructions on how to configure your email in Communicator, click here.

Paint Shop Pro 5.0:

  • Paint Shop Pro 5.0, (GET IT) one of the best graphics editors around! This is a trial version and it will expire in 30 days. You can get the real thing from JASC and believe me, the new version 5 is well worth it! Just as good as Adobe Photo Shope at a mere fraction of the cost.

Eudora Pro - The best in email software - This is an early version. If you really have a need for a very powerful email client, you should get Eudora Pro 4.0!

Both Eudora files are .exe files, and need to be put in separate folders on your hard drive. Make two new folders on your hard drive, one called Eudora1 and the other called Eudora2. Then click the links above and download each file into it's applicable folder. Now, double click them, explode them, and copy the actual files to a floppy without the .exe files that you download. You will then have a set of Eudora Pro 2.2 diskettes. Remember, this is 32 bit software, and not for Windows 3.1 or 3.11, only for Windows 95/98 and NT.

Thumbs plus 32 (Shareware) This is 32 bit software, and not for Windows 3.1 or 3.11, only for Windows 95/98 and NT.

  • Thumbsplus32 (GET IT) Excellent image catalog and management software. This stuff is really great. Well worth the registration fee after this trial version expires. We highly recommend this program for anyone who is compiling a lot of graphics files and pictures.
