Netscape
Communicator 4.0 Email Setup
Note:
The following instructions are for the setup for Netscape Communicator
4.0 or Navigator 4.0 only! Do not use these for Navigator 3.0.
Please
read the following instructions completely and follow them exactly!
The following
instructions are for setting up/changing the mail preferences
in Netscape Communicator and/or Navigator 4.X
Mail
Server Setup
1.
Start Communicator.
2. Click "Edit" at the
top of the Netscape window. This will bring up the window below.
3. Click "Preferences" as shown
in the window.
4. Couble Click "Mail & Groups"
in the window to expand the tree as shown below..

Now click
the "Identity" tab in the window and the following
screen will appear.

Fill in
all the blanks as shown above substituting your information
for the generic stuff that is in the boxes.
Your name:
Your real name
Email
address: your username@crosslink.net
Reply-to-address:
your username@crosslink.net
Organization:
Your company name if you wish
Now click
"Mail Server" and the following screen
will appear.
Continue by making all the settings the same as above only with
your specific information in place of "username".
Now click
"Groups Server" below "Mail
Server" and the next screen will appear.

Fill in
all the blanks as they are shown above with the exception of
the "Discussion group (news) folder, which should be setup
for your specific directory.
Now click
the main "OK" box at the bottom of
the window.
This should
complete the mail and news setup of your Netscape Communcator/Navigator
4.0.
Shut down
all programs, restart your computer and you will be able to
send and receive email from Netscape Communicator.
