Internet Explorer Version 3.x
Email Setup
Please read the following instructions
very carefully! It is very important that you
follow these instructions to the letter.
The instructions
on these pages are for setting up MS Internet Explorer if the
screens don't match the written instructions that were given
to you at sign up after clicking on the "Internet"
Icon on your desktop. Note: Do not Install the diskette given
to you at sign up if one of the screens below comes up or if
your system has been previously used on the Internet. These
instructions are for setting up the mail preferences in Internet
Explorer (specifically Internet Explorer version 3.02).
NOTE:
If your MSIE has already been setup previously to process Internet
Mail, or if the first screen below does not come up when you
click the Internet Icon on your desktop, then please click
here. for further instructions.
1.
Start MS Internet Explorer by double clicking "The Internet"
Icon on your desktop.

Click on Mail and the following screen
will come up

- Click
Next at this point. Then the next
screen below will come up.

At this
point, enter your real name I.E.: Paul Jones using both upper
and lower case letters if you wish. Then move down and enter
your email address, which is comprised of your username@crosslink.net.
Make sure you use your username I.E.: paulp or what ever it
is. Then click Next and the following
screen will appear.

On this
screen enter your POP3 information, which is comprised of your
username.pop.crosslink.net (make sure you use lower
case letters and your username). Then enter the following
in the bottom box smtp.crosslink.net, exactly
like that, no CAPS. Then click Next
again and you will see the next screen below.

Here, enter
just your username in the Email Account
box, then click your Tab key on your keyboard, which will take
you to the next box below it. In the Password box, enter
you password that you used when you signed up with us. NOTE:
This will enter as a bunch of ******* so make sure you enter
it correctly, and don't use CAPS in the box. It must all be
lower case letters. Then click Next again
for the next window below.

Here put
your cursor over top of the circle to the left of "I
use a modem to access my email". Then select
the dial up networking connection that you made while going
through the instructions that you received when you signed up,
what ever you named it (Crosslink, Eagles Nest, whatever it
was) Then click Next again for the next
screen below.

Now you
are almost ready to send and receive email. Just click "Finish"
and start emailing away!
