If you are a totally new user to the Internet, you may want to take the free tutorial that is offered at Learn the Net, where you will find great lessons on just about everything on the Internet. You may also want to familiarize yourself with our Online Help page. Here you will find answers to a lot of your questions, such as billing, usage, how to setup your Email, how to clear your mail box if it is stuck, and lots of other timely and helpful things. Once again, thanks for joining up, and we hope you will be with us for a long time to come. Two of the most commonly occurring problems with new and old users alike are explained below along with the solution for each. Problem: You are not able to get your Email, and you are getting the message "Netscape is not able to locate the server pop.crosslink.net". The reason is that you have not configured your Email correctly. Solution: With Netscape open, click "Edit", then "Properties" then DOUBLE CLICK "Mail and Groups". Then click "Mail Servers". Look directly to the right and you will see a line that says "Incoming Mail Server" and to the right of that it probably says "pop.crosslink.net" To fix the problem you need to place your mouse cursor in front of the first p in POP and click it one time. Then type your login name and a dot in front of it. The end result should be that that window now has something like this in it login.pop.crosslink.net (making sure that your personal login name is in the place of "login") Problem: Your mail is stuck, it says "unable to lock mail drop" or you are getting the message that need to enter a new password. Someone has probably sent you a message with a file attached to it that is too large for you to down load. Solution: Stop everything that you are doing, wait 15 minutes. Then go directly to our online help page, click the link that says "how to clear out your mail box" , then enter your login and password and click the button below that says "delete largest message". Then try your mail again. If it is still stuck, repeat the above. REMEMBER, deleting the messages from your hard drive DOES NOT get them off our server. Stuck mail box problems are files that are on our server, NOT your machine. Also keep in mind that once you delete a message from the server, it is gone for ever and can not be retrieved. If you are going to continue to be receiving large files attached to Email messages, you may want to consider installing Eudora Lite on your computer to use as an Email client. It is much heavier software and will enable you to download much larger files. You can install it from your Eagles Nest CD ROM, or you can download it from here Home
