Sometimes it's hard to visualize the size of a truss. The trailer in this picture is a 45 foot flatbed and the truss is approximately 58 feet long. The timbers are bigger than a railroad tie and the plates are 1/2" thick with 1" diameter bolts connecting them. This job, for a restaurant, had over 1000# of bolts and over 3000# of plates. All the plates and bolts were hot dipped galvanized, custom fabricated right at our plant.
