How do you transport your products? Can they go in one piece? Yes, no and maybe! Let's talk about yes. The U.S. highway system restricts loads to 12-14 ft. wide X 80 ft. long X 13'6" high. This is with permits, front and rear guard cars with beacons. One time I felt like the president. We shut down 4 bridges and one tunnel taking a job to the Navy in Portsmouth, Va. The state police were cordial but they wanted us thru the bridges and tunnels fast. All total we used about 12 different state troopers and 4 county sheriffs in a 150 mile trip. But, back to reality, if your truss is 12 feet tall and 60 feet long, we can deliver it one piece. If it's bigger, we normally break the truss in manageable subsections to be joined at the job site.
Please note that we fully assemble the truss at the plant, video tape the assembly, mark the truss and disassemble it, video taping that process also. We then send out the truss with the video tape to the customer. If needed, we can send a representative from the factory to help in the assembly in the field. However, this has only had to happen one time, and after just a few minutes the contractor told our man to go home, after he saw how easy it was to reassemble the truss.
The long and short of it is this. We are capable and equipped to ship our timber trusses anywhere in the world. We take great pains in making sure that our products are designed, produced and shipped, anywhere in the world, and that they arrive in perfect condition and on time! We go to any end to make sure that we are not responsible for a project being completed late. This is very important in that our trusses are a very integral part of a building, and to a great extent the completion of the building is dependent on our trusses being delivered on time and built correctly so they go in place with little or no difficulty.
We can ship trusses assembled all over the country. We can also ship timber trusses overseas by container ships. We are near the ports of Norfolk, Virginia, Richmond Virginia, 3 hours from the port of Baltimore, Maryland, 5 hours to the port of Philadelphia and 8 hours from New York. All in all, freight has never been a problem. In short, we can ship anywhere!
